Tempranillo-Cabernet 2018
Texas is widely regarded as the preferred home for producing America’s finest versions of Spain’s famed Tempranillo wines. Inwood produces blended Tempranillo in the classic tradition of the northern Spanish river valleys, as well as the newer modern varietal Tempranillos. This full-bodied, inky wine follows the Spanish tradition of incorporating Cabernet – here, 55% Tempranillo and 45% Cabernet Sauvignon – using grapes grown exclusively in the Texas High Plains, just a few miles from the Texas-New Mexico border. Our Tempranillo-Cabernet exhibits sumptuous red fruit flavors of cherry, raspberry, and strawberry from the Tempranillo, juxtaposed with the darker Cabernet Sauvignon flavors of blackberry, black currant, and cassis. A chocolaty, nutty finish lingers from aging in French Oak barrels.
