Chardonnay (Dallas County) 2016
In 2010, Inwood made history by releasing the first wine ever produced from 100% Dallas County grapes. It was also our first varietal Chardonnay, sourced from two vineyards, one in southern Dallas County and the other being the original Inwood Road Vineyard in central, urban Dallas. In 2011, we began to process the fruit separately, yielding two very different single vineyard wines. This 2016 Chardonnay is from the southernmost vineyard and expresses the crisp French style, with green apple fruit and none of the vanilla-oak-butter notes common in American Chardonnays. 2016 represents the final vintage from the county vineyard, as the real estate has since been sold and developed.
